Your symptom.
A personal starting point.

From back symptoms and discopathy to meniscus problems, ligaments, muscles and tendons: find out how we assess your symptom and add some shockwave. A personal assessment determines which approach fits.

Back & spinal discs

In case of persistent back symptoms and discopathy, we look beyond the name on a scan. We assess whether focused shockwave can contribute to fewer symptoms, in addition to a plan for movement and load. The basis for this application is still under development.

Knee & meniscus

Pain when turning, walking or stairs may be related to the meniscus. We investigate what's going on and discuss whether additional focused shockwave is appropriate. A small study in degenerative meniscus symptoms suggests pain reduction.

Ligaments

Sustained joint tape symptoms require attention for pain, stability and stress. Focused shockwave can be discussed as a supplement in selected situations. The investigation is limited; the nature of the tyre injury determines the approach.

Muscles

Painful muscle points around neck and shoulders can move and work difficult. In myofascial pain, involving muscles and the surrounding connective tissue, shockwave may help reduce pain. First, we'll find out where your symptoms came from.

Heel & foot

Pain under your heel can get in the way of a walk or a working day. If explanations and exercises for plantar fascia symptoms do not help enough, shockwave can be a supplement. First, we'll find out what's causing your pain.

Achilles tendon

Does your Achilles tend to walk, stairwell or exercise? A plan starts at the scene of the symptom and your load. Practice therapy is important; shockwave can be discussed in some long-term symptoms.

Shoulder

Reach, dress or lie on your side can be tricky with shoulder pain. Shockwave is not a treatment for any shoulder symptom. In the case of calcification in a tendon, the choice requires additional explanation of the uncertain effect.

Elbow

Pain on the outside of your elbow can hinder you from working, lifting or exercising. We'll check your arm load and discuss the treatment options. The Dutch GP guideline does not recommend shockwave with a tennis or golfer elbow.

Nerve symptoms

In case of selected nerve problems, we discuss radial shockwave. Read some research on carpal tunnel syndrome and how we weigh the possibilities.
