Elbow symptoms.
Get a grip on your load again.

With a tennis elbow, the pain is usually on the outside of the elbow. Grabbing, lifting or repeated movements can cause symptoms.

Look beyond the painful place

We discuss what activities are difficult and what the burden on your arm is. The research helps to distinguish a tennis elbow from other causes.

An appropriate structure

Explanation, adaptation of activities and exercises can be part of the plan. The approach is tailored to the duration of the symptom and to what you have already tried.

What does that mean for shockwave?

The Dutch GP guideline does not recommend reference for shockwave in a tennis or golfer's elbow. The treatment probably does not help or hardly helps and can give additional symptoms. That's why we don't put shockwave for this diagnosis as a logical standard choice. Explaining and carefully aligning load are paramount; in case of persistent symptoms we assess which follow-up step fits.

This information is general. Whether shockwave is appropriate for you requires a personal assessment. There's no guarantee of recovery.
